| My name is Julie. I am a child of God first of all; I am also the wife of my wonderful husband, Robert, and homeschooling mom to five children ~ Melissa (and her husband Michael), Emily, Samantha, Alexandra and Bradley. I am also a proud grandmother to beautiful Lydian, Mike and Melissa's first blessing! We live in beautiful NW Washington. Over the years the Lord in His mercy has taught us many things. One of those things very close to my heart is modesty. Having four daughters, it is a very important subject that we discuss often! We believe that as daughters of the King we are to proclaim His holiness and purity, and one way of doing that is to dress in a modest way. The fallen world in which we live proclaims that immodesty is a good thing, and that women (and even little girls) should show off their bodies to their best advantage. We can easily see the effects of this in our culture, even in Christian circles. How difficult it is for young ladies to keep themselves pure! How difficult it is for men to think pure and godly thoughts when they're bombarded by immodesty everywhere they look. The Lord tells us that modest apparel is His desire. (1 Timothy 2:9) |
